PETERBOROUGH went down to yet another defeat at bogey track Swindon – and have yet to win at Blunsdon.

The injury-hit Readypower Panthers have an appalling record at the Wiltshire circuit and have now lost 22 league matches in a row there.

Only Kenneth Bjerre and guests Davey Watt and top-flight debutant Craig Cook save the Panthers blushes to leave the management with a major headache.

Clearly there are several riders well below par with Lewis Bridger and Ulrich Østergaard again struggling to make any sort of impression albeit at a traditionally difficult place to visit.

Bridger had three pointless rides before partnering Workington’s Craig Cook, making his first Elite League appearance, to a Heat 12 maximum.

And Østergaard picked up just two third places, beating only one opposition rider – fellow Dane Morten Risager.

Watt, standing in for the injured Niels-Kristian Iversen, picked up a dozen points, including a six point tactical ride win, and Bjerre was again in double figures and is now averaging over ten points a meeting this season.

And Cook, who has only been racing for 18 months after switching from moto-cross, was a revelation with two of Peterborough’s seven race wins.

Team boss Trevor Swales said: “Clearly something needs to change – and quickly.

“Our only consolation is the fact that other than runaway leaders Poole, no other team has actually got more away points than us.”
